The company introduced a facelift version of this vehicle in 2006. The production of this vehicle was discontinued when General Motors decided to shut down the Saturn brand in 2009.
Evolution of Saturn Vue
Saturn Motors introduced two generations of Saturn Vue since 2001.
First Generation (2001-2007)
The first generation shared its unibody platform with Pontiac Torrent, Chevrolet Equinox, and the European Opel Antara. It came with four engine options including a 2.2L four-cylinder, 2.4L four-cylinder, 3.0L V6, and 3.5L V6. It was available as a four-speed automatic and a five-speed automatic transmission.
The company introduced a sportier Red Line trim that offered better performance compared to the standard versions. Similarly, a Green Line version was introduced in 2007 that offered a better fuel efficiency rating. Moreover, a facelift version of Saturn Vue was introduced in 2006 that came with a new bumper and grille, and a redesigned interior with higher-quality materials.
The Red Line variant offered a few additional features like 18-in alloy wheels, unique rocker panel trim, ground effect bumpers, chrome exhaust tips, and more.
Second Generation (2008-2010)
The second generation carried over the same engine options as the previous generation. However, the 3.0L V6 engine was discontinued and a new 3.6L V6 engine was introduced for better performance. This generation was available in four different trims including XE, XR, Red Line, and Green Line.
It shared its platform with Chevrolet Captiva and Open Antara. The production of this vehicle was discontinued with the demise of the Saturn brand in 2009.
