Nissan Titan was named after the Titans of Greek Mythology. It was launched as a full-size pickup truck in the North American market in 2003. It was built on the Nissan F-Alpha platform.

First Generation (2003-2015)

Nissan Titan first generation

The first generation was designed to provide excellent power and towing capacity with a 5.6L 32-valve engine that could produce 317-horsepower. It was offered in a fully boxed ladder frame. It was available in five trims including S, SV, Pro-4X, SE, and LE. Later on, the luxury SL trim replaced the SE and LE trims.

Second Generation (2016-Present)

Nissan Titan second generation

The second generation was launched with a 5.6L V8 engine combined with a 7-speed automatic transmission that could produce 390-horsepower. Furthermore, the company launched a 5.0L turbodiesel V8 engine in 2019 for better fuel efficiency. It’s available in three cab styles including a 2-door regular cab, 4-door King Cab, and a 4-door Crew Cab.

The 5.0L turbodiesel engine was discontinued in 2020 leaving only a 5.6L V8 engine. Moreover, the 7-speed automatic transmission was replaced by a 9-speed automatic transmission.
