Lamborghini Aventador Brief History
Lamborghini Aventador was launched as a mid-engine sportscar in February 2011. It’s named after a Spanish fighting bull. Aventador was made by hand in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy. It was introduced as a successor to Murciélago. In just five years, Lamborghini had produced 5,000. It’s the flagship vehicle of the brand.
Evolution of Lamborghini Aventador
Lamborghini has introduced a number of Aventador models over the years.
Aventador LP 700-4 (2011-2016)
The first iteration of Aventador was designed by Filippo Perini. It shares most of its features with the limited edition Reventón and Estoque concept car. The company produced 5,000 units of this model while they had planned to launch only 4,000 units.
Aventador SuperVeloce LP 750-4 (2015-2017)
SuperVeloce LP provided more horsepower compared to its predecessor. It was introduced with upgraded aerodynamics and driving dynamics. SuperVeloce LP provided superior maneuverability at higher speeds because it was equipped with a new enhanced electronic steering. Moreover, it offered much better rigidity with its upgraded chassis.
Aventador S LP 740-4 (2016-2021)
This model was launched with several mechanical and exterior upgrades. It was capable of producing 730 horsepower. The front and rear were slightly updated. This model received four-wheel steering and a slightly updated suspension. This model’s front downforce is 130% more than the original Aventador.
Aventador SVJ LP 770-4 (2018-2021)
This model was introduced as a track-focused iteration of the Aventador S. It was capable of producing 759 horsepower. With the titanium exhaust system and extensive use of carbon fiber, the weight of the vehicle was significantly reduced. It was the first model of Lamborghini that came with Lamborghini’s Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA) system.
Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae (2021)
The current model of the Lamborghini Aventador can produce 769 horsepower. The company has decided to produce only 600 units of this new model. It can achieve a top speed of 220mph. Unfortunately, 15 units of this model were destroyed when a car carrier cargo ship caught fire.
So, the company had to restart its production for those 15 units while the production was actually discontinued in February 2022.
