Ford F150 Brief History
Ford F150 was launched in 1948 and it was mainly used for hauling and transportation on farms during those days. The first version was recognized as F-1 and the name F150 was coined in 1975. In 1962, Ford established its production unit in Brazil in collaboration with Sudamericana.
The company collaborated with an RV company in Indiana and produced 1,000 units of Ford trucks with a camper in the 1960s. The company introduced four-wheel drive in 1959. The truck had the same front bumper for almost 20 years.

Seventh Generation (1980-1986)
Launched with better fuel economy and improved aerodynamics. 5.0L V8 engine was launched in 1985. Eighth Generation (1987-1991)
This generation had an all-new interior and its aerodynamics included softer lines around fender arches and the rear along with a rounded front clip. The five-speed manual overdrive transmission replaced the four-speed manual transmission in 1987.
Ninth Generation (1992-1996)
Ninth generation was launched with more advanced aerodynamics and a lower hood line. The driver’s side airbag was added in 1994. It brought some new tech features including a power driver’s seat, keyless entry with alarm, and a compact disc player.
Tenth Generation (1997-2003)
Tenth Generation Ford F150 offered a better ride and greater fuel economy with its improved aerodynamics. A standard V6 engine replaced 4.9L inline 6. The rear-hinged door was added to all models. Moreover, this generation introduced a fully independent front suspension.
Eleventh Generation (2004-2008)
