He knew that he had the knowledge and experience to change the automotive world. In 1909, Chevrolet began racing for Buick. It was then he became acquainted with William C Durant, the owner of Buick and founder of General Motors. This partnership forged an empire; the official company of Chevy was created in 1911. Chevy has had many changes in the past 111 years, but its mission has remained the same.

Logo
There are many different theories that speculate how the Chevy logo came to be.
One of these theories says it was designed by Louis Chevrolet. It is believed that the design was inspired by the Swiss cross to pay homage to his homeland. Another theory speculates that it was designed by William C Durant, the owner of Buick. Some report that Durant sketched it one night at dinner between courses. Although the origin can be mysterious, the cross on the logo has remained the same throughout its history. Chevy owners have nicknamed it the famous bowtie.
